Buxton Festival Fringe Recital, BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall, and Sing for Pleasure Summer School…Such a busy and incredible summer!
On Friday 19th July, I performed a heartwarming afternoon recital alongside pianist Tim Kennedy as part of the Buxton Festival Fringe. I was so grafeful that 75 audience members came to enjoy the music, and there was even a standing ovation!
Thank you to the amazing Buxton Festival Fringe team for nominating me to for the “vocal solo award”, and congratulations to the winner Hannah Brine.
“Following their final song ‘The Prayer’, reflecting Katy’s own beliefs and gratitude that singing was not only her passion but also now her profession, the audience erupted with rapturous applause and a standing ovation. After the encore I left feeling thoroughly relaxed and uplifted.” - Karen Wain-Pimlott, BFF Reviewer
Saturday 21st July… We took 66 of our HCC children down to London to perform with Sir Mark Elder, the Hallé, Hallé Choir, and Hallé Youth Choir in the Royal Albert Hall!
What an incredible concert and moment in history as Sir Mark Elder says goodbye to the Hallé after 25 years at the helm… Thank you Sir Mark for all you have done for the Hallé and therefore me personally.
Thank you as well to our inspiring HCC Director, the wonderful Shirley Court!
My very first time on a Sing for Pleasure Summer School…I loved it! I met some wonderful new people, practiced new choral conducting skills, enjoyed the 60th anniversary dinner, and sang some glorious music.
I was also delighted and humbled to receive the commendation award for the Intermediate 1 level…thank you so much!
