What a wonderful three months of care homes and dementia groups over the summer! I love meeting new people and seeing familiar faces at regular groups/places…the power of singing never fails to amaze me! I am grateful to God for every single moment of it.
June
The theme for June was “Songs from Italy” with Dean Martins 1950s hits “That’s Amore” and “Volare” as well as some famous Italian opera arias which went down a storm. (See my “Opera in care homes” blog).
July
July was “Seaside Songs” with Cliff Richard’s 60s hit “Summer Holiday”, and other summery tunes “I’ve got a lovely bunch of coconuts” and “I do like to be beside the seaside”!
August
Last month was themed around “Afternoon Tea”…Doris Day’s “Tea for Two”, Frank Sinatra’s “When I take my sugar to tea”, and of course Binnie Hales’ “A Nice Cup of Tea”! Did you know? Us Brits drink an average of 900 cups of tea per year!
