October has been an exciting month with Halle adventures in Yorkshire, care home singing sessions, HCC Christmas repertoire, and opera rehearsals!
At the start of the month, I was reunited with some friendly faces at Haddon Hall Care Home in Buxton, where I worked for 2 years during my RNCM studies... it was so lovely to see the residents again! I also had the pleasure of visiting the Brookview Care Home in Alderley Edge (twice this month!), Cheadle Manor Care Centre, Thornhill House Care Home, Darley Hall Care Home, and Ivonbrook Care Home.
October is when we start to learn our Christmas repertoire with the children's choir... it's never too early! We also had our wonderful workshop day on the 8th, where we took part in Dalcrose and Drama workshops as well as singing rehearsals.
My first rehearsal with Preston Opera was very exciting! I am thrilled to be part of this wonderful concert and it is a pleasure to work alongside such a talented group of musicians.
And finally, this month's Halle Storytime tour to Bridlington and the Yorkshire Coast was magical... seeing children's faces when they see and hear live instruments for the first time is priceless. My role as narrator/storyteller was incredibly fun!
November is a jam-packed month, beginning with my Dementia-Friendly Coffee Concert tomorrow in Buxton Methodist Church at 11am... I cannot wait!
