March Round-Up

A very delayed March round-up! But it was a wonderful month.

This months singing sessions were themed around "Springtime" with interesting facts about daffodils, UK lambing season, and nightingales. We had springtime songs from the musicals including "Spring, spring, spring!" from Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and "Younger than Springtime" from South Pacific. We also had some beautiful spring hymns, including "All Things Bright and Beautiful" and "Morning Has Broken", as well as the up-beat spring songs "Mr Blue Sky" and "You Make me Feel so Young".

March was also a fantastic month with the Hallé! The Hallé Children's Choir performed in the Hallé Youth Ensembles Showcase on Sunday 5th March and just blew the audience away! I also went on a fantastic 4-day trip to Yorkshire and the North East with a talented trio of Hallé musicians. We performed musical stories to 341 children in total (I was the narrator and singer) and it was humbling and real privilege to see the children's faces light up!

In March, I also stepped in for my talented friend Olivia Hamblyn to cover a rehearsal with the Macclesfield Mydel Ladies Voice Choir. We had a wonderful rehearsal working on a Gershwin melody and of course some lovely John Rutter! Thank you for having me Mydel Ladies.

Thank you to all the care homes that have had me to sing this month... Prestbury House Care Home, Ivonbrook Care Home, Thornhill House Residential Home, Haddon Hall Care Home, Southfield Care Home, Welby Croft Care Home, The Arglye Care Home, Cheadle Manor Care Centre, and Thomas Fields Care Centre.
