February has been a busy and exciting month with 17 dementia singing sessions including three dementia cafes, and my second Dementia-Friendly Coffee Concert in Buxton on the 2nd. I also sang in a fundraising concert for the Syrian and Turkey earthquake fund at St John's Church in Buxton, organised by my friend and fellow soprano Alicia Hill... it raised over £1,700! The Hallé Children’s Choir have been busy rehearsing ready for our concert of Youth Ensembles this weekend!
My February singing sessions have been themed around “Old Show Tunes” …some of my all time favourite music! We’ve had songs from Calamity Jane including “Whip Crack Away” and “The Black Hills of Dakota”, and My Fair Lady including “I Could Have Danced All Night” and “Get me to the Church on Time” …they have gone down a storm!
There have been a few tear jerking magical moments which I will write some blog posts about… stay tuned!
