A magical weekend of Hallé Christmas Carols Concerts at the Bridgewater Hall with the Hallé Children's Choir!
I am so proud of every single one of the 83 members of the Hallé Children's Choir! They have been working so hard in our rehearsals since September, and now all that dedication and practice has paid off. Congratulations and bravo!
In the first half, they sang the most beautiful version of "In the Bleak Midwinter" called "What can I give him?" and in the second half they raised the roof with "There is a Santa Claus!" from Elf the Musical.
For most of the children, it was their first ever experience of live music at such a scale... Lots had never seen a full orchestra before, or heard an eight-part choir like the Hallé, let alone performed in front of 2,000 plus audience members! It was a really joyful and inspiring weekend for them, which I know that they will never forget.
It has been such an exciting and inspiring experience for me to work alongside the amazing Shirley Court. I have loved every second of my first term with the choir and I feel so privileged to learn from Shirley (and the children!) as we make music together.
I can't wait for what 2023 with the Hallé will bring!
